Seed bombs, t-shirts, patches, permaculture consultation sessions are amongst some of the new rewards we have just released at the half way mark of our Community Gardens 'Strawbale Gazebo' Crowd-funder campaign.

We are 30 days in on our campaign and have 30 days to go. So far we have raised $2343 - thank you to everyone who has generously donated so far. But we still have $4657 to go.

If we do not reach our $7000 target the project will not be able to go ahead. It is critical that we reach our goal if we want this project to really happen.

More than ever we
need your help to get us over the line.... If you haven't done so yet - please pledge a donation in support  - this project is dependent on the community coming in behind to make it happen s
o please please please help us make this dream a reality ... Check out the new rewards and get behind us.

As the fruit in the garden is ripening sooo too is our crowd-funder campaign. We have cracked the $2000 mark. Thanks soooo much to the legendary Greens Upper House member the Hon. Mark Parnell who has claimed a perma-blitz reward for $500... Thank you Mark for supporting our campaign. And to all the other incredible people who have helped make up the $2000 towards our project.

We are a quarter of the way through our campaign - and have 44 days to raise the remaining $5000... we need your help. If you haven't already please pedge your support and claim a reward.

So check out our strawbale project crowd-funder campaign and share the project to everyone and anyone who you think will support the project...

Kegan, Lance and TJ had a meeting with Building and Property on Friday last week to progress the gazebo project and things are certianly moving - the development application is with council and once that is approved we will be able to begin site preparation ...

Stephan Haggett has offered his earthmoving and excavation services for the purpose of site preparation, base preparation, foundation excavation and site cleanup to the value of $2100 (est)... how cool is that!!!!!

Volunteers need to join our project and construction team

We really need more people to come on board as part of the project and construction team ... this project can not just sit on a couple of peoples shoulders and with a few club folk heading off to new ventures we really need some others to step up to help us make this gazebo really happen - if ya interested - we will love you long time.

Do you know a concreate contractor?

Our most pressing need it to find a concreter who might be interested in helping - we need to get a costing asap based upon the designs on the website... If you know anyone - can you send through their contact details.

The crowdfunder is going good - but we need more pledges - have ya made one yet?
http://www.pozible.com/project/35125 - we are at $1438 and have 50 days to raise the remaining funds

Tomorrow we are meeting with teachers from the School of Maths and Science and hoping for their financial sponsorship support and we will be holding an AGM for the Flinders Community Garden Club on the 11th November in the garden - so keep that date spare.

Thanks to so far all your helps been incredible
- the social networking has been great - and things are moving quickly.

Hello all our amazing supporters of sustainable building!

I'm happy to announce that we have reached over $1000 in pledges in just 5 days! Thanks to all of you for your support and for sharing our campaign with your friends and family. It's inspiring to realise how much generosity there is out there for project such as this. It's still early days and we've still got $6000 to raise over the next 55 days, but it's a promising start.

We will keep you updated about the progress of the campaign and building of the gazebo and have started a new update page on facebook you can join and follow

Latest news: This Friday we're meeting with the University Buildings and Property project manager and the straw bale builder representing the project (Lance from House of Bales, that's been involved in the project for 8 years!) to nut out how the engineers design for the gazebo relate to the cost of the build. The designs have a large amount of concrete in the footings and foundations which make the project a lot more expensive than we first anticipated. But there is goodwill from all sides so we're confident of a compromise.

Please share our crowd-funder campaign page with your friends and family help us reach the required $7000 we need to build a strawbale gazebo for our community garden.

Find the 'Flinders community permaculture garden' on Facebook to keep updated.

Thanks again!

Peace and mud, Kegan

For the past 8 years the Flinders Community Garden has dreamed of building a Strawbale Gazebo.

We are so close - we have the designs and half the funding, as well as a great project team dedicated to making this happen. The only thing holding us back is the remaining funds.  So please help us get that final leg by supporting our crowd-funder campaign. We need to raise $7000 more to make our strawbale gazebo project finally happen.

Our Community Garden has put a lot of work in and jumped many hurdles to get the project this far ... it would be devistating to get so close and not reach our goal.  If you pledge now - no money will be taken out until we and only if we reach our goal.

Take a look through our website - learn about this great community driven project - watch our quirky crowd-funder video below ... but please take that next step, confirm a financial pledge and really make this unique project finally happen. Check out our crowd-funder campaign page here.

With the money we raise we will purchase all the sustainable building materials we need to physically build our project... This is where your contributions will be invaluable. You are going to practically help us by purchasing one of the elements which combined together will form our strawbale gazebo. All contributions will collectively  go a long way in building our dream.

Thank you REWARDS from small to large contributions include community garden sticker, message engraved in a paver or timber post, commemorative plaques and a permablitz in your backyard. You can purchase a strawbale or secure a workshop place in one of the awesome sustainable building workshops, which will be run by Australia’s leading natural builders during Feburary to March next year.

It is really a special project this one and we can only make it happen if the community comes in behind us by digging deep and help us reach our goal of our crowd-funder campaign.

Thank you so much to those who do help us.
We really appreciate your support.
